Golden Era of LA
もう随分と時間が経過してしまったけど今年の4月27日に、Ernie Barnesが血液に起因する合併症の為死去した。とのニュースを見た。音楽好きなら彼の作品の一つや二つは確実に知っているだろう。でも個人的にErnie Barnesはある一枚の絵の印象が猛烈に脳裏に焼き付いていた。それは自分がまだ小学生か中学生になりたてぐらいの頃からしばらくの間実家のリビングから強烈な光を放っていた一枚の絵だった。もうしばらく目にしてなかったそれを見に実家の倉庫をあさる為チャリを走らせ、薄暗い倉庫の中で色んな物をかきわけ発見することができた。携帯で撮ったものの上、光量が少な過ぎてあまりちゃんと見れないかもしれないけど是非御覧あれ。
Jabbar、Cooper、Magic、WorthyにRambis。
そしてコートサイドでハンズアップしてるByron Scott。
ちなみに対戦相手はあの頃の宿敵、Celtics。
全てが自分にとって輝いていたあの時代を封じ込めたとんでもない一品だ。
今年は7シーズンぶりに優勝したLakers。
これも結構前の話だけど。。。

今日は2009 NBA Draftの日だった。
もちろん自分の携帯は鳴らなかったが、狭き門をクリアしたゴツイ猛者共の中に、
18歳のスペイン人の少年が混じっている。彼は全体5位でミネソタ・ティンバー
ウルブズにpick upされた。
名前はリッキー・ルビオといい、U-16の頃から散々「神の子」呼ばわりされ
騒がれていたが、2008年の北京オリンピック決勝、スペイン-アメリカ戦で
Jason Kidd、CP3、Deron WilliamsというNBA屈指のアメリカ代表ガード陣と
渡り合い、実力が認められた。
スペインはこれまでにセルジオ・ロドリゲス、ルディ・フェルナンデス、
ホセ・カルデロン、ポー・ガソルなどの身体能力の高い選手をNBAに
送り込み、アメリカを脅かす存在になったが、ルビオのNBA入りで
更に強力なチームとなる。
ロシア、ユーゴスラビア(旧セルビア・モンテネグロ)はかつてアメリカの
ライバルだったが、欧州予選でスペイン、ギリシャ、ドイツに遅れを
取っている。ピートラス兄弟、トニー･パーカー、ディオウ、トゥリアフを
輩出しているフランスも見逃せない。南米でもアルゼンチンを筆頭に
ブラジルの成長が著しい。
NCAA全米大学選手権はMarch Maddnessと言われ、毎年3月に物凄い
盛り上がりを見せる。今年もNo.1ピックを含め、NCAA上がりの選手が
ドラフト上位指名を占めたが、ルビオは海外出身のポイントガードでは
異例の若さ、経歴で上位指名された。
猛者共の中で、生き残れるかどうか。
今シーズン終わったばかりなのに、来シーズンも楽しみになってきた。

Cycling around Machida
GNT -"Hey man you goin on the trip to Machida tonight?"
YRKC -"Yah man, sounds fun."
It started like this.
We went there to delivery "Mentaiko" straight to DJ Shimone, DJ Nissin. Additionally, we just wanna go cycling in local area.
From Gotokuji to Machida, it takes 2hours to go through our bikes. it's more than sufficient time to melt down it. So we decided to go by train with carrying them.
on the packed train, checked by conductor.
"Cold chillin' cycling cource" is the best name which recommended by DJ Shimone, from Machida to Sagami river.
But at first, we must eat a big meal in Chinese restrant "Kissyo-ro".
sweet-and-sour pork, perfect.
Next stage, go around U.S. military base, "Camp Zama" to see some graf.
Nice place-name.
Then, arrived at Sagami river and pit in liquor store after watched art.
We returned to Machida and took a brief rest, restarted to go CHERUBIM, a famaous handmade frame builder shop.
Umm..., I remember the bike like "Unicorn" over there.

Giro d'Italia 2009
Yesterday, the 100th anniversary race of Giro d'Italia 2009 was finished. All the cycle road race fans were impressed with the 21 stage races for over 3 weeks. Dieter "Didi" Senft remains the same. He was still runnning with energy.
The final stage was held in Roma as individual time trial.
The champion "Maglia Rosa" Denis Menchov, the Russian 31 years old man, crashed in the final stage under increasingly harsh condition of rain, but he quickly restarted with his new bike. His team "Rabobank" staff moved excellent in the accident.
